Flexcube naming conventions

Every Flexcube database object name follows the same pattern. Once you can read it, a name like SMTB_ROLE_DETAIL tells you the module, the kind of object and what it holds.

Anatomy of a table name

Read a name position by position:

Positions 1–2

Module

Two-letter module code, e.g. SM = security management.

Positions 3–4

Object type

TM maintenance, TB internal, TW work table, VW view. In 14.x tables use Z in position 3.

Position 5

Separator

Always an underscore _.

Position 6 onward

Content

What the object holds, e.g. ROLE_DETAIL, CUSTOMER, CONTRACT.

What changed in Flexcube 14.x

From release 14.x the physical table carries Z as its third character, and the familiar name with T still exists as a synonym pointing to it:

Synonym (classic name)Physical table (14.x)
ACTB_DAILY_LOG → ACZB_DAILY_LOG
CSTB_CONTRACT → CSZB_CONTRACT
SMTB_ROLE_DETAIL → SMZB_ROLE_DETAIL
SMTB_USER → SMZB_USER
STTM_BRANCH → STZM_BRANCH

Existing SQL, reports and scripts that use the classic names keep working through the synonyms. When you look at table structures, grants or storage (for example in ALL_TABLES), search for the Z name.

Check it in your own schema

-- Which table does a classic name point to?
SELECT synonym_name, table_owner, table_name
  FROM all_synonyms
 WHERE synonym_name = 'SMTB_ROLE_DETAIL';

-- All physical security tables in 14.x
SELECT table_name
  FROM all_tables
 WHERE table_name LIKE 'SMZ%'
 ORDER BY table_name;

-- Every object of one module (tables, views, packages…)
SELECT object_name, object_type
  FROM all_objects
 WHERE object_name LIKE 'CS%'
 ORDER BY object_type, object_name;
